Day; 07–Interlaken Switzerland

Lauterbrunnen

Lauterbrunnen is a municipality in the Swiss Alps. It encompasses the village of Lauterbrunnen, set in a valley featuring rocky cliffs and the roaring, 300m–high Staubbach Falls. Nearby, the glacial waters of Trümmelbach Falls gush through mountain crevices past viewing platforms. A cable car runs from Stechelberg village to Schilthorn Mountain, for views over the Bernese Alps

Trummelbach Falls

One of the best things to do in Lauterbrunnen in summer is to hike to the Trummelbach falls. These 10 falls of Trummelbach cascade into a cave and are also primarily famed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Lauterbrunnen Valley’s 72 waterfalls. To reach the top of the falls, you’ll have to walk through the cement pathway through a cavern which would take nearly 45 minutes. Or, you can also take a lift to the top and cherish the view of the Lauterbrunnen valley.

Harder Kulm top of Interlaken

If Interlaken had a king, he would reside on the Harder Kulm. From the viewing platform at 1,322 metres above sea level he would graciously look down upon Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, or admire the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. In fact, the Harder Kulm Panorama Restaurant is reminiscent of a castle. In order to visit it, however, you don’t need to be a king – just take a seat in the cable car and ascend Interlaken’s own mountain.

Paragliding

You won’t be in Interlaken long before you’ll see the bright colored parachutes of paragliders in the sky or landing in the Höhematte Park. Flying through the Alpine air with a 360-degree panorama of snow-covered Alps above the lakes and lush green meadows is an unforgettable experience. It’s no wonder it is one of the most popular things to do in Interlaken.
